JAMES BERGEY JR., CPA

"J" earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Delaware. He has been a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for more than 35 years. J is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). He specializes in trust, guardianship, and receivership services, as well as consulting in business, personal, tax, estate planning and real estate development. Residing in Berlin, Maryland with his wife, J is an active member of his community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Calvin B. Taylor Banking Company and serves as on the Finance Committee of the Atlantic General Hospital Corporation. He helped create Atlantic General Hospital in the late 1980's and has previously served as Chairman of the Board, Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee.

JAMES RYAN BERGEY III., CPA

Ryan earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting and finance from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2005. He earned his CPA license in 2006. In addition to tax law, he specializes in business consulting (e.g. new business set-up, investment analysis, management, buying and selling businesses, real estate transactions and financing). Ryan has a wide variety of clients by industry and size, but in particular he has many clients in agriculture, construction, restaurants, professional services and retail industry groups. He resides in Berlin, Maryland with his family, and is an active member of the community. Ryan serves on the Board of Directors for Calvin B. Taylor Banking Company.

AMANDA KIESEWETTER, CPA/PFS CFP™

Amanda received her Bachelor of Arts from Salisbury University and obtained the Professional Accounting Studies Program Certification in 1998. She is a member of the AICPA, the MACPA, and the Maryland Society of Accountants. A proven expert in the field, Amanda is a licensed CPA, Certified Financial Planner™, and Personal Financial Specialist (designated by the AICPA). She specializes in tax planning and preparation of corporate, partnership, individual, trust, and estate income tax returns, estate tax administration and planning, and financial planning. Amanda resides near Snow Hill, Maryland with her family and is the treasurer of Worcester County GOLD and a member of the Atlantic General Hospital finance committee

ALEX WEST, CPA

Alex earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting & MBA from Widener University. His main focus is working closely with business clients providing tax planning and compliance services. He has over 20 years of public accounting experience preparing personal, business and fiduciary tax returns. He is affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Maryland Society of Accounting & Tax Professionals.

KIMBERLY ROEMER, CPA/MST

Kimberly received her Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University and her Master of Science in Taxation at Pace University. Kimberly is a member of the AICPA and the Maryland Society of Accountants and Tax Preparers. She specializes in preparation of corporate, partnership, individual and trust and estate income tax returns. Kimberly loves all aspects of estate tax administration and has worked extensively in this area. Kimberly is a member of the Board of Directors of the Donnie Williams Foundation which works exclusively with young people in Worcester, Wicomico, and St. Mary’s counties in Maryland to support school-aged children with academic support, after school activities, and job-training.

Ioana Davidson

Ioana “Anna” earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2017 and an MBA from Salisbury University. She is a CPA candidate, actively pursuing her CPA certification. She has been with Bergey and Company for over five years and her areas of practice include personal and business income tax preparation, tax planning, bookkeeping and payroll. She is originally from Romania where she received a Marketing degree and a master’s in Business Administration. She currently resides in Snow Hill and enjoys spending time with her husband and son, and their Siberian huskies. She has served as Treasurer at Christ the Savior Orthodox Church and is an active member of the church.

Olivia Baker

Olivia received her Bachelor of Science from Salisbury University in 2014 and obtained her MBA with a concentration in Accounting in 2022. She focuses on the preparation of individual and corporate tax returns. Olivia lives in Berlin, Maryland with her husband and their pets. She enjoys traveling, running, and volunteering for Grass Roots Rescue, a local nonprofit animal rescue.

Maria Kukhar

Maria received her Bachelor of Arts from Salisbury University and her Master of Science in Accounting from Wilmington University. She specializes in new business set-up, bookkeeping, payroll, individual and small business taxation. She has extensive experience with clients in restaurant, construction, agricultural and retail industries. She resides in Ocean City, Maryland with her family and is a mother to three beautiful girls.

Polina Gjoni

Polina earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Salisbury University and is currently working on obtaining her CPA license. She specializes in individual and corporate income tax preparation as well as assisting clients with accounting, payroll, and sales tax compliance. Polina resides in Berlin, Maryland and is an active member of the St. George Greek Orthodox Church.

Outside of the office, Polina enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and their three daughters. She is also a PADI certified Advanced Open Water Diver.

Molly Cavallaro

Molly received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Salisbury University in 2019. Originally from New Jersey, she decided to stay on the Eastern Shore after graduation and has been working at Bergey & Company for two years. Molly focusses on bookkeeping, payroll, individual and business tax preparation. She is currently sitting for her CPA exams and hopes to have passed all sections by the summer of 2023. In her free time, she enjoys reading and going to the movies.

Melissa Mckay

Melissa received her Associates degree in Office Technology in 2002 from Wor-Wic Community College. She specializes in Bookkeeping, Payroll, Property Management, Administrative Duties and is a Notary Public. She has been a part of our staff for over 15 years and enjoys working with our clients and learning new skills. Melissa resides in Salisbury with her family. She loves to spend fun quality time with her family, reading, and watching movies.

Michaela Pereyra

Michaela joined Bergey & Company P.A. in 2021 and specializes in property management and bookkeeping. She currently resides in Willards, MD with her family. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and fishing with her family and two dogs.

Lea Pepper

Lea works as a staff accountant and office administrator – she spent most of her formative years in Wicomico County and joined the team at Bergey & Company in 2019. She enjoys reading and traveling, and lives with her family in Parsonsburg, Maryland.

Kalli Niemi

Kalli joined the team at Bergey & Company, P.A. in 2022 as an office administrator.

She resides in Salisbury, Maryland with her family and has lived in Wicomico County for most of her life. She enjoys spending time in nature and loves to be surrounded by friends and family.
